Putting Nurses First is a community outreach program sponsored by the National Educational Alliance™. The goal of this initiative is to engage partners in a continuing nursing instruction program that elevates the educational level of LPNs, RNs, Paramedics, and Respiratory Therapists who will serve as the next generation of healthcare leaders. To reach this ambitious outcome, we seek to establish partnerships with institutions equally committed to making a difference in the lives of these professionals.
Nursing Education Continuum
As the country’s largest provider of independent study systems for nurses, Rue Education has served more than 65,000 students across the nation. This program provides nurses with blended learning systems designed and developed by PhDs and master’s-degreed professors. These

systems fully prepare the student to succeed in challenging, nationally accepted proficiency examinations. National Education Alliance sponsored grants, scholarships, and endowments may be applied to Rue Total Learning Systems™. Qualified partner institutions normally include hospitals, professional healthcare associations, schools, universities, and private employers. Although each program is tailored for the needs of the participating institution, there are typically three common elements:
- Qualified employees, students, or members are awarded a grant on behalf of the institution.
- An endowment fund is established for the institution and is used for scholarships, graduation events, or other purposes that benefit the nursing community.

3. A scholarship program is established for employees, members, or students selected by the institution.
Many students, nurses, and paramedics have taken the first step toward an enriching, life-long career. Putting Nurses First is designed to reduce the financial burden of continued higher education while allowing busy professionals to maintain a steady income.
