  • EXTENDICARE EMPLOYEES TO RECEIVE EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS

    Milwaukee, WI – January 9, 2012 – The National Education Alliance is pleased to announce that it will award scholarships totaling nearly $27,000 to Extendicare Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) employees. These scholarships are in addition to the $90,000 in grants that Extendicare employees have been awarded from the National Education Alliance. This initiative is part of a broader effort to support the career ladder of the nursing profession and elevate the nurse’s voice and contribution in the healthcare industry. Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) working at Extendicare will have an opportunity to apply for the scholarships. Each quarter, one individual will be awarded an LPN to RN online learning scholarship for nursing courses and a NAPNES Certificate scholarship will be awarded. Online distance learning classes will give LPNs the flexibility they need to complete programs while working full-time, allowing them to advance their careers while earning full-time wages.

  • EDUCATION PARTNERSHIPS AWARD GRANTS TOTALING OVER $225,000

    Houston, TX – January 3, 2012 – The National Education Alliance has partnered with corporations nationwide to provide employees educational grants. By working together with these groups, the National Education Alliance seeks to establish programs that meet the diverse needs of adult learners. The National Education Alliance works with each corporation to create a custom educational benefit program that best fits the needs of their employees. In 2010 and 2011, the National Education Alliance has awarded 243 grants to employees of corporate partners totaling $226,914.

  • GRANTS DESIGNED TO TACKLE NURSING SHORTAGE

    Arlington, TX – September 15, 2011 – The National Education Alliance is pleased to announce that grants totaling nearly $20,000 have been awarded to Senior Care Centers Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs). This initiative is part of a broader effort to support the career ladder of the nursing profession and to elevate the nurse’s voice and contribution in the healthcare industry. Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) working at Senior Care Centers will now have an opportunity to explore additional educational pathways to career advancement, including degree programs, certificate programs, and skill enhancement courses. Distance learning and online classes will give LVNs the flexibility they need to feasibly complete this program in approximately two years while working full-time, allowing them to advance their careers while earning full-time wages.

Recognizing the direct correlation between education and the delivery of quality care, Extendicare continues to serve local communities by providing employee tuition reimbursement.

The launching of this online counseling center opens the doors for adult learners who wish to continue their education and achieve their degree for the least amount of money in the shortest time possible without sacrificing their commitment to family or their career.
